| Hypnotherapy - How it can help you.
The greatest force in the human body is the natural drive to heal itself. Holistic health care emphasizes the organic, or functional relation between parts and the whole heart, mind, body and spirit. One of the most widely recognized methods of holistic medicine by leading medical experts today is hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy was accepted by the American Medical Association in 1958, and by the British Medical Association in 1955.
Deep level mind changes acquired from multi-session hypnotherapy can immensely affect physiological symptoms in the body including pain, sexual dysfunction, addictions, bone growth, glaucoma and more. Mulit-session hypnotherapy has a proven 88% success rate in helping people to stop smokingthe most effective method available today. We specialize in hypnosis for health, and HypnoBirthingâ Childbirth Education. We feel your state of mind can adversely affect your well being, and know that hypnotherapy can be an easy, comfortable solution.
Although most any problem can be treated with six to ten sessions, depending on the circumstances, some issues like pre/post surgical can easily be treated with only one. Because you’ll have a Cd or audio tape of your session, it will be like having hypnosis every day…and you’ll see results manifesting in the form of more peace and calm and less stress reactions in your life. Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective solution to a brighter tomorrow for many mental, emotional and physiological conditions.
We do not utilize hypnotherapy as an alternative to traditional medical care; in fact we encourage you to work with your doctor for medical issues. We see hypnotherapy as a wonderful compliment to the care your doctor can provide you by assisting with the elimination of harmful side affects from medications and rigorous treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy, as well as teaching you to manage pain, and many times mitigate it safely.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis
is a naturally induced state of relaxed concentration—a state of mind and body
in which we communicate suggestions to our subconscious mind.
This part of our mind influences what we
think, how we feel, and the choices we make.
There is no magic to
achieving success with self-hypnosis.
Anyone who chooses to can reach deep relaxation and redirected focus.
Common
Misconceptions about hypnosis
"In hypnosis, a person has to do whatever the hypnotist says
to do. "
You cannot be controlled and won’t do anything while in a hypnotic state that you
wouldn’t be likely to do in your normal state.
People will not accept any suggestions to do anything that is opposed to
our morals, standards, ethics, beliefs, etc.
Since the subconscious mind will not allow you to be hypnotized against
their will or accept any suggestions that are not in your best interests, even
while in the hypnotic state, you retain full choice. No one can be hypnotized unless they want and allow it to occur.
"I will be unconscious if I am hypnotized."
People
are generally fully aware of everything that is going on and being said while
under hypnosis. Even in the deepest
levels of clinical hypnosis, most people will remember everything that happens
and is said. Hypnosis in not about
going to sleep or becoming unconscious.
On the contrary, a typical hypnotic state is a condition of heightened
awareness and deepened relaxation. It
is a state in which the mind works so well and the "Law of Self-Preservation"
works so beautifully that no one could ever take advantage of you in the
hypnotic state.
"If I am hypnotized I will lose control of myself."
While in a hypnotic trance state you will actually gain greater control of
yourself. The only reason we will
accept and follow post-hypnotic suggestions is that they are what we have told
the hypnotherapist we want. The "Law of
Self-Preservation" will not allow us to accept a harmful suggestion. No one has ever been injured by hypnosis.
"Not everyone can be hypnotized."
There are many levels of hypnosis. Everyone
can reach at least the lightest states of hypnosis if they are willing to be
hypnotized. If you ever "daydream,"
suddenly realize that you have passed your exit on the freeway, meditate, or
become immersed in a good book or movie, then you have been in a hypnotic
state. Everyone can be hypnotized if
they want it to happen, believe and expect it to happen, and allow
it to happen.
